It was a dramatic end of season turn around for the Hoops who were seven points adrift of old firm rivals Rangers in early April, however, a run of seven straight victories, including two over the Gers was enough to ensure that the title would be returning to Celtic Park. In the Champions League there were impressive wins over AC Milan and Benfica before ultimately being knocked out 4-2 on aggregate by a star-studded Barcelona side.
