Lyon's 2023-24 season was a tale of two halves; after a disastrous start leaving the club bottom of the table at Christmas, the turn of the year sparked life into Les Gones. Astonishingly finishing 6th by the end of the season they secured Europa League qualification with a win against Strasbourg on the final match day. Elsewhere they made it to the Coupe de France final, losing out on the trophy to PSG in a tightly contested final; Alexandre Lacazette was the clubs standout performer totaling 22 goals across all competitions as Lyon climbed their way through the table and into Europe
